Mediacom Awards $100K in Scholarships

Mediacom Communications said Friday that it has awarded $1,000 scholarships to 100 children of its employees, honoring the men and women who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The scholarship program was established on the first anniversary of the attacks. The program is in memory of the victims of the attacks, but is specifically designed to help the children of Mediacom employees with their higher education costs.
In announcing the scholarship winners, Mediacom chairman and CEO, Rocco Commisso, stated "as we all give thanks during this Holiday Season for our many blessings, I would ask that we not lose sight of the tragic events that the scholarship awards commemorate."
To date, Mediacom has awarded $500,000 in scholarships through the September 11th scholarship program. In addition, Mediacom annually provides dozens of scholarships to college bound students in the markets it serves through the Mediacom World Class Scholarship Program.
Mediacom is the eighth largest MSO in the country.
