MDU Communications International Inc. and DirecTV Inc. will roll out the “Bulk/Choice Advantage” direct-broadcast satellite program under terms of a deal announced Monday.
MDU is an end-to-end provider of DirecTV programming and high-speed-data services to the U.S. residential multidwelling-unit market, which numbers some 26 million.
The companies said the BCA program was developed in response to MDU-property owners wanting to provide their residents with a high-quality basic-video package, along with the option to individually and cost-effectively upgrade to the full array of DirecTV programming services.
“We believe the BCA program will significantly expand new business opportunities for our MDU-system operators, and we are pleased to launch it with MDU Communications, a long-time, valued partner,” DirecTV vice president of sales development and strategy Daren Benzi said in a prepared statement.
