MavTV Inks Comcast Affiliation Pact
MavTV says it has completed an affiliation agreement with Comcast Corp.
Deal terms and launch plans were not disclosed.
"We are extremely pleased to have signed an affiliation agreement with the largest distributor in the world," said MavTV COO Steve Smith in a statement. "This agreement supports our goal of becoming one of the premiere male-oriented cable television networks."
The network counts some 7 million subscribers in the U.S. via carriage pacts with Charter Communications, Verizon's FiOS and Cablevision Systems Corp., among others. It also has distribution pacts currently reaching 1 million customers in Canada and 9 million in the U.K.
Owned by the Mav'rick Entertainment Network, MavTV carries a variety of programming themes targeting men 18 to 54, including sports, sports analysis, gaming, comedy, women and relationships, health and fitness, finance, gadgets, and movies.
