Massillon Cable Launches ION’s Digital Suite

Massillon Cable TV has struck a deal to carry ION Media Networks’ two digital networks, officials said Tuesday.

Under the agreement, Massillon Cable TV of Massillon, Ohio, will offer its subscribers qubo, a children’s channel, and ION Life, a network for mature adults focusing on healthy lifestyle options, personal growth and wellness.

The cable operator will make the two digital networks available immediately to its two systems in the Cleveland area.

Massillon also carries ION Television, the company’s flagship television network, which airs a mix of TV series, movies, sports and specials.

“Many years ago, I pledged to work with our local broadcast stations to help them bring their programming to the communities we both serve,” Massillon Cable TV president Robert Gessner said in a prepared statement. “I am very happy to have this opportunity to fulfill that pledge. It is refreshing to work with Ion Media, an organization that truly wants to serve their markets with new, innovative programming, especially in this new era when so many broadcast networks and station groups are intent only upon extracting money from local TV viewers.”

Qubo is a multi-lingual kids’ network that champions literacy and positive values through entertainment.

ION Life is dedicated to an empowered active lifestyle, responsible citizenship, personal growth and wellness for consumers of all ages.  The network offers a mix of wellness programming, which includes fitness, diet and nutrition, travel and adventure, design and décor, sports and all categories promoting personal growth and achievement.
