Lifetime Digital is debuting a trio of video series today, two based on series on the women's-targeted network.
The new original Webisodes -- Rita Rocks, Sherri and Celebrity Buzz with Tanya -- are part of Lifetime Digital's commitment to growing original video content online. A record 11.34 million videos -- both original content and full episode streams -- were streamed on myLifetime.com during September, a 281% increase from the 2.98 million in September 2008.
Encompassing 15 webisodes, the Rita Rocks content will serve as a "digital diary" for Rita Clemmens, played by series star Nicole Sullivan, as she documents her pregnancy. Each webisode will be Rita's video diary entry for her baby, attempting to put the events of that week's show into context-in spite of the occasional wild tangent.
With Sherri, each of the eight webisodes will follow series star Sherri Shepherd to a comedy club, where she will perform stand-up related to the theme of that week's TV installment.
MyLifetime.com will also continue to stream episodes of both Sherri and Rita Rocks following their first runs on Lifetime each week.
As for Celebrity Buzz with Tanya, thrice weekly comedienne Tanya Scheer, an alumnus of the L.A.-based comedy troupe the Groundlings, will give her unique take on all she finds interesting in the latest celebrity news, often by interviewing the celebrity herself
