Liberty Global Inc. updated transactions in France and Sweden Wednesday.
The company reached a definitive agreement with French MSO Altice and private-equity firm Cinven Ltd. to sell UPC France for $1.6 billion, with closing expected during the second half of 2006.
And Liberty Global announced that it received approval from the European Union competition authorities to sell UPC Sweden to a consortium comprising The Carlyle Group and Providence Equity Partners Inc. That transaction is valued at approximately $419 million.
