DeDe Lea has returned to Viacom Inc. as senior vice president, government relations.
Lea -- who served as Viacom’s VP of government affairs from 1997-2004 -- had been VP of government affairs at Belo Corp.
Following the completion of the spinoff of new Viacom -- expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2006 -- Lea will be responsible for government-relations activities of MTV Networks (MTV: Music Television, VH1, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Comedy Central, Country Music Television, Spike TV, TV Land and several international services), Black Entertainment Television, Paramount Pictures, Paramount Home Entertainment and Famous Music.
She reports to Viacom co-president and co-chief operating officer Tom Freston.
