Independent Nets Form Group
The Association of Independent Programming Networks announced its formation Wednesday.
The AIPN was formed by a group of seven independent programming networks -- including founding members The Tennis Channel, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, ImaginAsian TV and The America Channel -- “to promote the business, legislative and regulatory interests of independently owned video-programming channels.”
“The AIPN will aim to help independent channels realize their full potential,” ImaginAsian's Anil Srivatsa said in a prepared statement.
America Channel’s Doron Gorshein added, “2006 will be a year of particular focus on telecom legislation. We look forward to working with the AIPN's constituent members to help promote an environment in which industry and the consumer are availed the best and cheapest content products on the market.”
