Hustler TV Launches Gay VOD Service

Adult content provider Hustler TV will look to target the gay community with a new video-on-demand service.

The service, dubbed HIS, will feature adult content for the approximately 15-million member gay community from such adult studio franchises as CitiBoyz, Next Door Studios and VCA, according to the network.

Hustler TV president Michael Klein said the gay community - which wields collective buying power of $610 billion - has been underserved in the adult PPV market and is prime for HIS, although the service has yet to reach any distribution agreements.
"Gay men, largely by virtue of their retail power, are often early adopters when it comes to cutting edge tech," said Klein. "They are three times as likely as straight men to already have access to interactive TV. This market reality bodes well for HIS."
Hustler TV - owned and operated by adult magazine publisher Larry Flint's LFP Inc. company - is currently in front of 45 million cable subscribers.
