Hip Hop Honors Hit VH1 Broadband
For the first time ever, preshow footage from the VH1 Hip Hop Honors will air exclusively on the network’s broadband channel, VSPOT (hiphop.vh1.com).
Red-carpet interviews and backstage footage -- hosted by former honorees Salt, Pepa and Spinderella -- will begin at 6 p.m. (EST) Oct. 17.
The third-annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors begins at 9 p.m., and it will be hosted by Ice-T. This year’s honorees include Ice Cube, Wu-Tang Clan, Afrika Bambaataa, Russell Simmons, MC Lyte, Rakim, Beastie Boys and Eazy-E.
Also in October, VH1’s digital properties, VSPOT and VH1 Mobile, will offer extensive hip-hop-focused content, and VH1 Classic and VH1 Soul will air specials.
VH1 Mobile is now offering event content such as ring tones from select honorees, original wallpapers and footage from a Freestyle 59 session with Fat Joe.
