Higbee’s Role Expands at Scripps Networks Interactive

Beth Higbee, senior vice president for Scripps Networks Interactive, will take on a new role with the company as senior VP and general manager of emerging ventures.

In this position, Higbee will focus on the creation of new businesses developed organically to drive growth for Scripps Networks. She will report to Ron Feinbaum, who became executive VP of new business development in January.

Higbee joined Scripps Networks as VP of new media in October 2000, overseeing development of FoodNetwork.com. During that time, the Web site has consistently been cited as the leading food and cooking site in both unique visitors and page views.

She was responsible for creating Food Network Cook Express, the company's first subscription mobile recipe application, as well as Food Network Weddings Interactive, Iron Chef America Interactive and the Next Food Network Star Interactive, the first sponsored simultaneous live on-air/online programs with text-message capabilities.

She also created Fine Living's Book It, the converged vacation package that gave users the ability to reserve boutique getaways online after they'd seen them on TV.
