HBO Sports Puts Mercurio In Digital Ring

HBO Sports is putting the ball in play with an original digital series, showcasing Paul Mecurio.

Kicking off July 31 on HBO.com, YouTube and iTunes, Got No game with Paul Mecurio will feature seven segments: three apiece on football and boxing and one on "race in sports."
Mecurio will interview boxing announcer extraordinaire Michael Buffer and HBO sweet science host Jim Lampley. The show will also feature a look at behind-the-scenes individuals who do everything from stitching up the fighters between rounds to forming a band to entertain the crowd. The three football segments spoof what really happens when referees enter the booth to review plays, while the special "race in sports" segment spoofs the fictitious top-secret conversation that might have occurred had there been an "Interracial Summit on Athletics," leading to the negotiations in the division of sports among the races in 1959.
Formerly a Wall Street lawyer, Mecurio was a writer and performer on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and starred in his own half-hour special on Comedy Central. He is a regular guest satirist on CNN, VH1 and MSNBC.
