HBO To Hold Times Square Rally For Kickoff Of Jets Reality Series

HBO will trumpet the kickoff of its reality series about preseason camp with the New York Jets with a rally in Times Square next Tuesday.
Greg Buttle, a former linebacker for the National Football League team, will serve as master of ceremonies for the rally at the Broadway pedestrian mall between West 42nd St. & West 43th St on Aug. 10 at noon.
Preceding the premiere of Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets on Aug. 11 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), the event also will feature appearances by HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg, Jets owner, chairman and CEO Woody Johnson, former Jets players and the team's cheerleading squad, The New York Jets Flight Crew.
They will be joined, via a live satellite feed from Jets training camp in Cortland, N.Y., by Jets players and head coach Rex Ryan, who will answer questions from Times Square. Ryan will be accompanied by children from Camp Owahta. HBO has partnered with the non-profit organization, Generation Jets Academy, to provide a positive summer camp experience to a select group of underserved NYC children.
The rally will also feature a youth skills competition where kids, ages 8-16, can compete to win a chance to become preseason Jets assistant team captains. Pre-registration starts at 11 a.m. for 100 spots, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. (Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to participate.)
Attendees can also enter for a chance to win "The Jets Super Fan Experience" which includes preseason game tickets and a VIP parking pass.
