Gospel Inks Comcast Deal

Gospel Music Channel secured an affiliation agreement with Comcast Corp., giving the service a “hunting license” to pursue carriage directly with the cable operator’s systems.

The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, has already yielded scheduled launches in such Comcast markets at Atlanta and Savannah, Ga., and Nashville, Tenn., according to Gospel officials.

The Comcast contract follows a similar pact inked with Charter Communications Inc. last month. That distribution deal has resulted in launches in three of the MSO’s divisions, Gospel executives said.
