Gemstar-TV Guide International said Tuesday that it signed a multiyear patent-license agreement with British Sky Broadcasting Group that lets the direct-broadcast satellite operator use Gemstar's electronic program guides in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Gemstar-TV Guide said the deal is its first patent license with a European television-platform operator. Financial terms and other details of the agreement were not disclosed.
