Fox Cable Counsel Promoted to Fox Networks Post

Fox Cable executive Rita Tuzon has been promoted to the post of executive vice president and general counsel of the Fox Networks Group, officials said Monday.

Most recently, Tuzon was executive vice president of business and legal affairs, and general counsel, for Fox Cable Networks, a post she assumed in March 2004. As the group’s general counsel, she supervised all legal and business matters pertaining to Fox’s regional and national cable networks, including FX, Fox Movie Channel, SPEED, National Geographic Channel, FSN and 20 owned-and-operated regional sports networks, Fox College Sports, Fox Soccer Channel, Fox Sports en Espanol, Fuel TV, Fox Reality Channel and Big Ten Network.

Tuzon also spent seven years as senior vice president of litigation for Fox Group, where she was responsible for managing litigation affecting many of Fox Entertainment Group's key companies. Before that, she was a litigation partner for five years at the entertainment and commercial law firm of Hill Wynne Troop and Meisinger.

In addition, Fox Networks Group President and CEO Tony Vinciquerra also detailed a reorganization of the reporting structure for many of the broadcast network’s senior business executives.

Tuzon, Fox president of sales Jon Nesvig, and the broadcast network’s executive vice president of network distribution Jon Hookstratten will report to Vinciquerra.

Senior vice president of broadcast standards and practices Nicole Bernard and senior vice president of legal affairs Minna Taylor will report to Tuzon. The network’s vice president of legal affairs for network distribution, Karen Earls, will continue to report to Hookstratten, but will consult with Tuzon when appropriate.

Fox Networks Group, a unit of News Corp., consists of Fox Broadcasting Co., Fox Cable Networks, Fox Sports and Fox Networks Engineering & Operations.
