Former G-Man Named Cox CFO

Cox Communications named former Cox Business vice president Mark Bowser senior vice president and chief financial officer effective immediately, the company said Friday.

Bowser replaces John Dyer, who was named executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cox Enterprises – Cox Communications’ parent – in December.

In his new role Bowser will oversee accounting and financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions and programming. He will also be responsible for the management of Cox’s commercial services and cable advertising divisions – Cox Business and Cox Media.

Bowser joined Cox Business in 2006 from Dell Inc., where he was vice president of the computer maker’s large corporate accounts division. His 30-year career includes stints at several Fortune 500 companies, including Sprint and GTE. He began his career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigating white collar crime.
