The Anne Arundel County (Md.) Council voted unanimously Wednesday night to grant Verizon Communications a franchise to offer its Verizon FiOS TV service.
Howard County, Bowie and Laurel, Md., have also granted video franchises to the regional Bell operating company. And Verizon FiOS TV is already available in parts of Clarksville, Columbia and Ellicott City, Md., as well as in select markets in California, Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Texas and Virginia.
Under the 15-year agreement, Verizon will pay the county franchise fees based on its gross revenues on cable services.
