Cablevision Systems has a new competitor in parts of the Long Island communities of Deer Park, Dix Hills, East Meadow and Levittown.
Verizon Communications said it is now taking orders for its FiOS TV service in those areas, adding that it expanded service to more households in Commack and Huntington Station.
The telco already offers FiOS TV in more than 100 New York communities.
