FCC's Carr Names Acting Media Advisor

Ben Arden is joining the office of Republican FCC commissioner Brendan Carr as acting legal adviser for media issues.

He succeeds, at least in an acting capacity, Evan Swaztrauber, who last month was tapped as policy adviser to FCC chairman Ajit Pai.

Arden is the associate chief of the FCC's Media Bureau and before that was deputy division chief in the bureau's Industry Analysis division.

He joined the FCC in 2010.

“Ben’s extensive experience in the Media Bureau will be an asset to the office, particularly as the FCC continues its work to modernize our media regulations and promote investment in local journalism," said Carr.
