Eurocinema To Air Scandinavian Movies
On Demand movie channel Eurocinema has teamed with international production company Nordisk Film & TV Fond, and Switzerland-based movie company Diva.AG to deliver via on demand a package of internationally-produced films.
The First Annual Scandinavian On Demand Film Festival will debut May 1 to some 36 million cable subscribers on Comcast, Time Warner, Charter, Cablevision, RCN and Verizon systems as well as DirecTV, network officials said.
The package will initially offer four titles priced at a suggested price of $4.99 to $6.99 each that will feature such actors as Lena Endre and Michael Nyqvist (The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo), Bryan Brown (F/X, Australia), Tuva Novotny (Eat, Pray, Love; Slim Susie) and Thure Lindhardt (Angels and Demons), said the network.
Eight additional titles will be added in June and July, direct from their debuts on the international festival circuit.
"Eurocinema is passionate about making the very best of international cinema accessible to film fans in all cities and towns across the US and Canada," said Eurocinema founder and CEO Sebastien Perioche in a statement. "With the creation of this first on demand film festival, we can begin to achieve this goal to unite film lovers everywhere, as we celebrate and explore the world of Nordic cinema."
