Edmunds Leaves Cox To Join Comcast Central Division

Comcast's Central Division has hired Kimberly Edmunds, who previously headed Cox Communications' customer operations group, as senior vice president of customer care.

Edmunds -- one of Multichannel News'2011 Wonder Women -- will be responsible for all care strategies and operations in support of more than 17 million combined video, data and phone customers throughout the 15 states that comprise Comcast's Central Division. She will be based at the division's headquarters in Atlanta.

Cox has not named a replacement for her, according to a spokesman.

In her 15 years with Cox, Edmunds was most recently senior vice president of customer operations, responsible for the end-to-end customer experience across all customer channels. She also served as vice president of customer care and regional senior vice president and general manager for Cox's Kansas/Arkansas cable system.

Prior to joining Cox, Edmunds served 10 years in a variety of customer service leadership roles with GTE Wireless (now part of Verizon Wireless). She has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Southern California.
