Michael Dugan has been named to the new position of chief technical officer at EchoStar Communications Corp.
Dugan, formerly senior technical advisor to the executive-management team, has been with the direct-broadcast satellite provider since 1990 and is a member of its board.
As CTO, he will have responsibility for all technical development and operations including broadcast centers, satellite fleet, EchoStar Technologies Corp., broadband development, fixed-satellite-services sales and operations and technical innovation.
