‘DishFAMILY’ Tier Launches

EchoStar Communications Corp. launched its “DishFAMILY” programming package Wednesday.

The company’s Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service is offering the package for $19.99 per month or $24.99 with local channels.

The DishFAMILY lineup includes: Angel One, Animal Planet, The Biography Channel, Bloomberg Television, Boomerang, BYU TV, CCTV-9, CCTV-EF, CNN Headline News, College Sports Television, Colours TV, C-SPAN, C-SPAN 2, Discovery Kids, Discovery Times Channel, DIY, Eternal Word Television Network, Fine Living, Food Network, Fox News Channel, Great American Country, Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movie Channel, HSN, Kids Tunes, NASA TV, Nickelodeon East, Nickelodeon West, Nick Games & Sports, NickToons, The Outdoor Channel, QVC, RFD-TV, The Science Channel, Shop at Home, ShopNBC, Trinity Broadcasting Network, TV Land and The Weather Channel.

“Since kids are spending an average of four hours watching television each day, we believe it is important to provide content that is appropriate for viewing by all family members regardless of their age,” Dish senior vice president of programming Eric Sahl said in a prepared statement.

“Our DishFAMILY package offers programming that includes popular children's, religious and general family-entertainment programming,” he added. “We have responded to the concerns of parents and policymakers and designed a worry-free TV package to meet the needs of all Dish Network families.”
