EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network Thursday began offering local channels via satellite in Harlingen, Texas, and the surrounding area.
The area encompasses the Harlingen-Weslaco-Brownsville-McAllen area, including Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy counties.
The addition of the Harlingen area boosts EchoStar’s list of markets where it offers local-channel service to 109.
Area Dish customers can now receive ABC channel 5 (KRGV), CBS channel 4 (KGBT), NBC channel 23 (KVEO), PBS channel 60 (KMBH), Univision channel 48 (KNVO) and Telemundo channel 40 (KTLM).
