Dish CMO Bahr Resigns

Dish Network chief marketing officer Ira Bahr has resigned his position with the satellite TV operator effective Dec. 9, 2011, to join Inspirato, a resort destination club based in Denver, the company said Monday.

Vivek Khemka, Dish vice president of product management, has been named acting CMO. The company said a search for a successor will begin immediately.

"Ira has been a key part of the Dish family for most of the last decade," Dish CEO Joe Clayton said in a statement. "We thank him for his dedication and service."

Bahr joined Dish in 2001 as CMO, then from 2003 to 2006 was president of Bingo TV, a game show channel produced and carried by Dish, before returning to the CMO role.

Before joining Dish, Bahr was Sirius Satellite Radio's senior vice president of marketing, alliances and communications, and spent 13 years at ad agency BBDO.

Separately, former EchoStar and Dish chief financial officer David Rayner, who left EchoStar on Nov. 8, has been hired as CFO at Boulder, Colo.-based energy firm Tendril. Rayner had also worked at Time Warner Cable and Time Warner Telecom.
