In Demand Promotes Nunez To SVP Movies, Original Programming

In Demand L.L.C. has elevated Emilio Nunez to senior vice president, movies and original programming.

In his new role, Nunez, who previously served as vice president, movies and originals will oversee content acquisition, strategic planning, and scheduling for In Demand's Movies On Demand service.

Based in the company's New York headquarters and reporting to executive vice president of programming and general counsel Michael Berman, Nunez is responsible for negotiating on-demand programming deals with major studios and independent suppliers, and developing new windowing models and digital distribution avenues. Moreover, he has oversight for managing content acquisition and scheduling for the subscription VOD service VutopiaSM, as well as the development of original programming for transactional and free on demand platforms, including stereoscopic 3D content. He will also oversee Howard Stern's SVOD channel Howard TV On Demand.

"Emilio is widely respected among our studio colleagues. Over the last several years, he added numerous responsibilities and has now become an instrumental part of our movie team," said Berman in announcing the promotion.  "As our content deals become more far-reaching and complex, it is imperative that we have someone with Emilio's deep understanding of the business and great relationships on both the original programming as well as the acquisition side."

Nunez joined In Demand in November 2005 to run programming development and production for the company's hi-def channel MOJOHD. Before that, he had a six-year stint at A&E, most recently as director, drama and music programming.
