CTHRA Seeks Nominees For Excellence In HR Awards
The Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA) has added a third award, Aspiring Leader, to its Excellence in HR Awards program, for which nominations are being sought.
The new award seeks to recognize an emerging human-resources professional whose fresh perspective, inventive ideas and innovative approach has positively impacted the leadership and culture of the organization.
CTHRA is currently seeking nominations for the Aspiring Leader, Team Innovator of the Year, and Leadership Excellence awards. All award nominations must be received by 5 p.m. CST on May 1, 2012.

CTHRA's Team Innovator of the Year (formally titled the Best Practices/HR Operational Efficiency Award) recognizes a company or team within a company for innovative, creative problem-solving that had a measurable impact on the business. Award recipients must exhibit diligence, perseverance, and dedication to developing and executing successful HR business strategies.
Past recipients are Discovery Communications' Flexible Staffing Group, Turner Broadcasting System Inc.'s HR Technology Team, Comcast's Human Capital Management Team, The Weather Channel Companies, and Cox Orange County/Palos Verdes.
CTHRA's Leadership Excellence Award recognizes an HR executive who has demonstrated extraordinary and visionary leadership in addressing a critical business issue, challenge or opportunity by enhancing an organization's efficiency, performance, cost management or profitability. The individual must embody professional excellence, and exhibit a strong dedication to the cable & satellite industry.

Past honorees are Adria Alpert Romm, Discovery's Senior Executive Vice President (EVP) of Global HR; Tom Mathews, EVP of HR for Time Warner Cable; Jack Jackson, Vice President of Administration and HR for C-SPAN; Mae Douglas retired Chief People Officer for Cox Communications; and Brian Koenig, retired Senior Vice President of HR for Scientific Atlanta, a Cisco Company.
The award recipients will be selected by CTHRA's Awards Committee in May and honored during CTHRA's Annual HR Symposium on Friday, June 15 in Atlanta. The honorees will also be featured in CTHRA's Resource Connection newsletter and in the June 11 issue of Multichannel News (the awards' media sponsor).
