Cox Promotes Kaish To Head Technology Ops

Cox Communications appointed Mark Kaish, previously in charge of development and support for the MSO's voice portfolio, as its new senior vice president of technology operations and announced other leadership appointments Thursday.

In his new role, Kaish is responsible for the support of all Cox products, national voice and data networks, internal and customer-facing applications, billing operations, information security and PC and local area networks. He will also lead "improvement and cost-reduction initiatives" across technology operations, according to the company.

"In keeping with our goal of achieving an integrated technology platform, we have brought together all of the operations groups within the new technology organization and placed them under Mark's leadership," Cox senior vice president of technology Scott Hatfield in a statement. "We expect Mark to drive new levels of performance, continuous improvement, field partnership, technological mastery and financial discipline at all levels of the organization."

Prior to joining Cox nearly four years ago, Kaish was vice president of next-generation solutions for BellSouth.

Cox also announced the promotion of three executives in technology operations:

* Steve Marsh, vice president of technology customer operations, who most recently was executive director of Cox Digital Telephone product operations;

* Sung Yang, vice president of technology product development and operations support systems, who has worked on initiatives ranging from work-force automation to wireless; and

* Guy McCormick, vice president of technology business operations, who most recently was executive director of engineering operations.
