Cox Launches Hispanic Digital ‘Paquete’

Cox Communications Inc. wants to offer its Hispanic subscribers the complete “Paquete.”

The MSO Monday announced the launch of “Paquete Latino,” which includes up to 35 Spanish-language channels, as well as multiple channels of Home Box Office, including HBO Latino, and the English-language programming in Cox's limited basic tier consisting of local broadcast channels.

Among networks included in Paquete Latino: TeleFutura, Azteca America, Discovery en Español, CNN en Español, History en Español, Fox Sports en Español, ESPN Deportes, MTV Español, VHUno, CineLatino, De Pelicula and De Pelicula Clasico.

Paquete Latino is currently available in San Diego; Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.; and Omaha, Neb., for approximately $34.95 per month. The MSO said it will launch the tier in additional systems during the fall.
