The online “Sports Channel” on Comcast Corp.’s portal will add breaking news, video content, exclusive editorial content, real-time statistics and interactive features from, the MSO said Thursday.

“The Sports Channel is designed with the sports fan in mind, with access to streaming videos, killer content, real-time scoring, breaking news and personalization tools, all of which create a truly interactive sports experience,” Comcast senior vice president of marketing and business development for online business Greg Butz said in a prepared statement.

“With the additions of MLB [Major League Baseball], NHL [the National Hockey League] and, now, popular content, we are now even better-positioned to deliver the ultimate in sports information and entertainment,” he added.
