Comcast ad sales arm Comcast Spotlight has named former Google executive Melanie Hamilton as its new VP of national sales.
The New York-based Hamilton will lead Comcast’s national sales team, spearheading the division’s national sales strategy across both holding companies and independent agencies. She’ll report to Brendan Condon, chief revenue officer for Comcast, and she’ll start in September.
Hamilton joined Google in 2008 from NBCUniversal, where she had been director of sales and strategic marketing. At Google, she has served the position of “head of industry,” in charge of the company’s AT&T account. Comcast said she led a “bicoastal, cross-functional team responsible for identifying and creating new opportunities for AT&T across Google’s suite of marketing, ad tech and cloud products.”
“We were looking for someone who has a strong track record of sales success, but who is also equally committed to—and passionate about—developing and leading workplace talent, cultivating relationships and approaching new opportunities and challenges with an entrepreneurial spirit,” Condon said, in a statement. “Melanie embodies all of these traits, as evidenced through her impressive career and we are very excited that she is joining Comcast Spotlight.”
