Comcast Shacks Up with RadioShack

RadioShack Corp. will offer digital-cable and high-speed-data services from Comcast Corp. in more than 1,800 retail stores following an agreement between the two companies, announced Tuesday.

Comcast said subscribers who sign up for its 6-megabit-per-second service in RadioShack stores through Dec. 31 will receive a special introductory rate of $19.99 per month for the first six months, a free self-install kit with a mail-in rebate and a free cable modem.

“There is a neighborhood RadioShack within an estimated five minutes of where 94% of all Americans either live or work," Comcast Online senior vice president of retail sales Bob Faught said in a prepared statement. “Consumers can visit their local RadioShack, sign up for Comcast High-Speed Internet, for example, bring home a self-install kit and connect to the Internet later that same day.”
