Comcast Names Western New England Region Its System Of The Year

When it comes to Comcast systems, the west -- as in the top cable operator's Western New England Regions -- is the best.
Among 20 regions competing for the honor, the system was bestowed with the 2009 "Circle of Success System Of The Year Award." the honor given to the system that goes above and beyond to improve the MSO by delivering superior business results, as well as top-notch service to its customers.
Comcast's Western New England Region employs over 1,900 employees and serves more than 800,000 customers in Connecticut, Vermont, Western Massachusetts and the Carmel, New York area. The region was recently recognized by the Hartford Business Journal as a "Best Place to Work in Connecticut" for the fifth straight year, most recently earning the second highest spot on the list. In addition, the region is constantly working to improve the customer experience and was among the first Comcast regions to launch a national Customer Guarantee, which clearly outlines what customers should expect, defines what Comcast is doing to hold itself accountable for meeting those expectations and how it's backing up its promises.
"My heartfelt congratulations go out to the Western New England Region, which has consistently exceeded expectations in every aspect of our business," said Dave Watson, executive vice president of operations for Comcast Cable, in a statement. "Their best practices are second to none in improving the customer experience and engaging employees, which resulted in operational excellence in 2009."
"[It] was all about finding a better way to improve processes and communications both for our employees and our customers," said Doug Guthrie, senior vice president of Comcast's Western New England Region, who accepted the award in Philadelphia during a special live broadcast. "By redefining the customer experience, improving operational efficiencies and focusing on engaging our employees, our Western New England Region led the company in finding innovative solutions to building the business."
