Gay and lesbian premium network here! TV is taking the next step with Comcast as it will become available as a subscription-video-on-demand service on the nation’s largest cable operator this summer.
Beginning July 1, Comcast On Demand will make here! and its array of original and acquired premium gay- and lesbian-themed fare -- including original movies, series, comedies, specials and documentaries -- available for a monthly subscription charge of $7.99.
Currently, here! -- which launched on Comcast in 2005 -- has been accessible as a transactional VOD service for $3.99 per title.
“here! is thrilled to be making its subscription-on-demand debut on Comcast systems nationwide,” here! Networks founder and CEO Paul Colichman said in a prepared statement. “We are pleased to deliver the finest quality gay and lesbian programming that many customers have long been looking forward to receiving in a broader subscription format. With this launch, here! will be available by premium subscription in 23 of the top 25 U.S. television markets.”
