Comcast said employee participation in its United Way campaign in 2006 rose nearly 80% versus 2005.
The MSO added that 120 local United Way organizations received nearly $2.9 million in contributions from Comcast employees, and they will receive an additional $1.3 million in grants from the Comcast Foundation.
Comcast also provided $6.5 million in airtime during 2006 for public-service announcements to bring increased awareness and visibility to the United Way mission and to salute Comcast employees for their generosity.
