Comcast Adds Reelzchannel in Chicago

Reelzchannel said it has been added to Comcast's channel lineup in Chicago and said it is making movies-on-demand marketing segments available to National Cable Television Cooperative affiliates.
The Hubbard Media Group-owned service said it will gain reach to an additional 126,000 Comcast digital subscribers in Illinois with the addition, to Channel 507.
David Williams, VP of marketing for Comcast's Greater Chicago Region, said the service would launch this month in more than 50 West Chicago suburbs and would be added throughout Chicagoland in 2010.
The NCTC arrangement, meanwhile, will provide video-on-demand packages consisting of two- to four-minute segments gleaned from Reelzchannel's library of content about movies, including behind-scenes reporting, celebrity interviews and fan reactions. Each edited segment will focus on one of the top 10-12 VOD segments in a given month and providers can use the content as part of their monthly VOD promotional strategies.
