Cogeco Upgrades VOD With Concurrent
Canada's Cogeco Cable has signed a master purchase agreement with Concurrent and will upgrade its video-on-demand infrastructure with the vendor's MediaHawk 4500 video servers.
The multiyear deal covers expansion and upgrades to Cogeco's existing VOD platform, and will allow the operator to launch new services to its 400,000 digital subscribers in Quebec and Ontario, including time-shifted television, network
DVR and advanced advertising, the companies said.
Cogeco Cable provides about 2.8 million customer accounts in the territories it serves. It is the second-largest cable telecommunications company in Ontario, Quebec and Portugal.
