CNN, AOL Click Together

Cable News Network will provide video-news clips free of charge for America Online Inc.’s AOL.com portal (www.aol.com), the two parties said Monday.

CNN also recently began offering free video throughout its CNN.com site (www.cnn.com).

The new AOL.com portal launched in beta form June 21.

“We are pleased that we are continuing our valued relationship with AOL and that CNN will be part of the launch of a new AOL.com portal,” CNN News Services executive vice president Susan Grant said in a prepared statement.

AOL Programming and Products executive VP Jim Bankoff added, “AOL.com is a new portal built from the ground up to serve high-speed users, and this agreement with CNN will take full advantage of that, providing visitors to AOL.com with a wealth of video from one of the world’s most trusted providers of news and information.”
