ClickStar Inks Deals with Three Movie Studios

ClickStar, the broadband-movie-download company backed by Morgan Freeman and Intel, announced Monday that it secured digital distribution agreements with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

ClickStar plans to launch Friday, offering 10 Items or Less, a movie starring Freeman and Paz Vega, two weeks after its theatrical release. It also plans to launch with three channels hosted by Freeman, Danny DeVito and Peter Bogdanovich.

Titles ClickStar plans to offer include WB’s Superman Returns, Universal’s Miami Vice and Sony Pictures’ The Da Vinci Code. It hasn’t announced pricing but said prices for purchase and rental will be “competitive with industry trends.”
