Charter Ups DiGeronimo To SVP Product And Strategy

Charter Communications promoted Rich DiGeronimo to senior vice president of product and strategy, overseeing the cable operator's corporate strategy, business development, product management and product development teams.

DiGeronimo previously was vice president of product management. He reports to Don Detampel, who earlier this week was named executive vice president of technology and president of commercial services.

In DiGeronimo's new role, he is responsible for developing the MSO's strategic direction, forming partnerships, developing new products and managing all existing products to achieve long-term growth and the best experience for customers.

Charter has had several high-level management changes recently, including the departure of chief technology officer Marwan Fawaz and executive vice president of operations and marketing Ted Schremp. The MSO announced the hiring of CEO Mike Lovett in April 2010.

DiGeronimo joined Charter in September 2008. Previously he was vice president and general manager of cable markets for backbone Internet services provider Level 3 Communications, where his responsibilities included strategic alliance development and the establishment of product requirements for Level 3's cable customers.

During his eight-year stint at Level 3, DiGeronimo also held multiple leadership roles in voice over IP product management, corporate finance, product strategy and corporate development. Before Level 3, he worked in investment banking for Bear Stearns, focusing on technology equity offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
