Charter Communications will launch ESPNU and ESPNU HD to its subscribers in southern California in time for this weekend's gridiron action.
The networks will be available to Charter customers on its Digital View Tier, with the standard-definition version of the college sports network positioned on channel 415 and ESPNU on channel 724, beginning on Sept. 30.
Deal terms were not disclosed.
"We are committed to providing our customers a great TV viewing experience," said Fred Lutz, regional vice president for Charter in announcing the upcoming rollout. "Adding ESPNU to our line-up delivers on that commitment. Southern California is a hotbed for college sports fans, and our customers will really enjoy all the college football and basketball on ESPNU, as well as the multitude of other college sports events throughout the entire year."
