The E.W. Scripps Co. has promoted John Phelps to president of its Shopzilla online comparison-shopping service.
Phelps, who had been Shopzilla’s chief operating officer, succeeds Chuck Davis, who has been named chairman of Shopzilla. Davis was the unit’s president and CEO when it was acquired by Scripps in June.
Scripps said Davis will serve in an advisory role and work with the company to explore business opportunities in interactive marketplaces.
