CFL Invades U.S.

The Canadian Football League reached carriage deals with several regional sports networks.

The league said it will be available in eight of the top 10 U.S. television markets as a result of the pacts.

The CFL’s complete 77-game schedule will be available nationally in both HD and standard-definition broadcasts.

The league announced deals with services including seven Comcast Corp.-owned RSNs, New England Sports Network and Altitude Sports & Entertainment.

In addition, all standard-definition games will be carried live on America One Television, which serves standard broadcast stations throughout the United States.

And Voom HD Networks' WorldSport HD announced earlier this week that it will air 25 live games in HD during the 2006 season.

DirecTV Inc. and EchoStar Communications Corp. Dish Network subscribers will have access to games through Altitude.

The CFL carriage agreements were negotiated by Trajectory Sports & Media Group LLC.
