CenturyLink Hit With Broadband Outage

CenturyLink has been struck with a broadband outage that appears to be affecting  much of its 37-state footprint.

The telco, which served 5.85 million high-speed Internet subs as of the end of 2012, has not disclosed a cause for the outage or when it expects to have customers back online.

“CenturyLink is currently experiencing a disruption in service,” a spokeswoman said in an emailed statement. “We are working to restore service as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our customers. We will continue to work towards resolution until all issues are resolved. We are still determining the impact of the disruption. We do not know at this time when service will be restored. “

Customers posting on the CenturyLink Twitter feed reported service outages starting early this morning while others note that they have had trouble reaching the telco’s customer service line.
