Cable Bahamas Extends Deal For Amdocs Billings Solution

Cable Bahamas, the largest cable provider in the island nation, has signed a five-year license and services contract extension for Amdocs' CES Multi-Play Smart Pack, a customer care and billing solution for smaller operators with multiservice offerings.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. With the Amdocs solution, Cable Bahamas has a single view of its customers across all its lines of business, according to the companies.

"By expanding the same proven Multi-Play Smart Pack platform that already supports our cable and broadband services, we will be able to speed time-to-market for our new voice services," Cable Bahamas CEO Tony Butler said in a statement. "We expect to achieve greater efficiencies and increase our competitive advantage by offering our customers new bundled service packages."

Cable Bahamas has used Amdocs for billing and customer service for 12 years.

Cable Bahamas, which has annual revenue exceeding $85 million and provides service on 19 of the country's islands, is owned by more than 2,000 Bahamians and the Government of The Bahamas.

Amdocs' larger customers in North America include Comcast, DirecTV, Dish Network, AT&T, Rogers Communications and Sprint Nextel.
