Broadcom Corp. and Scientific-Atlanta Inc. announced plans for S-A to use Broadcom's voice-over-Internet-protocol chips and software in the set-top maker's VoIP-telephone adapters.
"We chose to work with Broadcom because of our long-standing relationship with them and their proven track record of delivering highly integrated, feature-rich silicon solutions," said Hiamnshu Parikh, vice president and general manager of IP-subscriber networks for S-A.
Broadcom also supplies S-A with chip sets for its set-top boxes and cable modems.
