Broadcom Corp.’s family of AVC/MPEG-2/VC-1 HD digital-video-decoder chips now supports Dolby Laboratories Inc.’s “Digital Plus” and Coding Technologies' MPEG-4 “aacPlus” specifications, the vendor said.
The Broadcom chips -- including the “BCM7400,” “BCM7401,” “BCM7402” and “BCM7411” -- are made for cable, direct-broadcast satellite and Internet-protocol set-tops and media gateways.
