Bright House Networks promoted Craig Cowden to senior vice president of network engineering and operations, responsible for the architecture, engineering and operational support for all voice and data services.
Cowden will report to Bright House president Nomi Bergman.
"Craig's leadership has played a key role in converging end-to-end service delivery and business operations support for our fiber based business customers," Bergman said in a statement. "His proven track record in operations is invaluable as we move forward in providing the best in products and customer service."
In his new role, Cowden also will support Bright House's strategic planning and implementation of wireless initiatives. The MSO is an investor in broadband wireless provider Clearwire, along with Comcast and Time Warner Cable.
In 2009, Bright House hired Cowden as vice president and general manager of business operations and support services, where he has been responsible for leading the existing competitive local exchange carrier business operations in Tampa, Fla. Prior to that, Cowden was with Sprint Nextel as vice president of network service delivery and vice president of cable/VoIP service delivery.
Cowden has a master's of business administration from the University of Kansas and a bachelor of science degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan.
Bright House, the sixth-largest U.S. cable operator, serves more than 2.4 million subscribers in five states: Florida, Alabama, Indiana, Michigan and California.
