Bravo’s Runway a Runaway Ratings Success

Bravo’s Project Runway ran away with some serious ratings marks Wednesday night.

The two-hour season finale from 9 p.m.-11 p.m. averaged a 1.9 household rating and some 2.01 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research data. That performance made the Heidi Klum-hosted vehicle -- in which designer Jay McCarroll was crowned the winner and will receive $100,000 to help launch his own line -- Bravo’s best performer in the 2004-05 season.

The Project Runway finale was the highest-rated telecast in the network’s history in that time slot among persons two-plus and adults 18-34, 18-49 (1.3 million) and 25-54 (1.18 million), according to network officials.

The season finale also vaulted Bravo to basic cable’s top primetime spot Feb. 24 among adults 18-49 (delivering 996,000 of those watchers) and into second place among adults 18-34 and the third spot among the 25-54 set.
